There’s a good chance your photographer is going to show up on your wedding day before you are dressed and ready. You may have you photographer around all morning while you are getting ready, or maybe she is going to show up right before you put your dress on. It really comes down to 1) budget and 2) what photos you want to make sure you capture.
Personally, I am having my photographer show up about 2.5 hours before I walk down the aisle. Our hair and makeup will already be done, but she will be able to capture shots of me putting on my wedding dress and putting on the finishing touches with my family. After that we will have some time for bridesmaid photos and a bridal portrait. We aren’t doing a first look, but hope to get a lot of family shots done beforehand so we have less photos to take during the cocktail hour.
Just because our photographer might not be there for a long time, doesn’t mean I plan on skimping on decor and keeping the room looking fun! Here’s a great inspiration shoot if you are looking for some fun shots to gather with your besties and family before you put on your wedding dress!
